✅盧煜明（Dennis Lo）教授簡介：
Professor Lo received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge and the Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Oxford. His research interests focus on the biology and diagnostic applications of cell-free nucleic acids in plasma. In particular, he discovered the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma in 1997 and has since then been pioneering noninvasive prenatal diagnosis using this technology. His research has changed the thinking and the way how to perform prenatal diagnosis. Professor Lo has also pioneered a number of approaches to cancer liquid biopsy, especially for the detection of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and genome wide approaches for screening multiple types of cancer.
In recognition of his work, Professor Lo has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the King Faisal International Prize in Medicine in 2014, the Future Science Prize - Life Science Prize in 2016, the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, and the Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2011, as a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2013, as a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences in 2013, as a Founding Member of the Academy of Sciences of Hong Kong in 2015, and as a Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023. He has served as the Associate Editor of the Journal “Clinical Chemistry” for many years.
